We will be upgrading to these for kitchen, bathroom sinks, tubs, and showers.
The first is for the kitchen tap. It's called a "minimalist kitchen mixer" and is around $100 to upgrade to. You can pull the spout off as it has a flexihose attached to it hidden inside, that you can pull out. I liked the mixer next to it too, it looks really nice but I think it would be challenging to keep the spiral clean of debris!
The second photo is of the kitchen under mount sink. It is the highest upgrade available at about $950. It's quite pricey but I feel it is worth it as this will be easier to maintain.
The third photo is the bathroom sink, a standard Arena square inset vitreous china basin. There was another I liked but depending upon upgrade cost might stick with this one.
The fourth photo is of the showerhead (center), a Vito Bertoni Eco Rail Shower with hand held microphone. To upgrade in a shower that already has a rail is 300. For a shower without a rail it's 400.
Photo 5 is the bathroom sink tap and mixers. I LOVE these! It is the Metza basin set. It's only suitable with the Arena sink (the one we're getting). :)
Final photo is the bath tap an mixers. The Metza 3 piece bath set :) The shower mixers will be the same as these. I love the Metza line because they are a modern update of a vintage style, so they don't scream kitschy :)

Dakota 30
I'm very excited to say that after much waffling, we are moving forward with the Dakota 30 (T-range collection) from Carlisle Homes.
Initially I had my heart set on the Ascot MK2 from the affinity collection. We took a chance and drove to Greenvale to check out the Dakota as I really liked the layout on paper. Well it turns out I also liked the layout in person! It's got one less area than the Ascot MK2 but the spaces it does have are lovely and large and provide us with flexibility. And just take a look at that kitchen! It's truly a thing of beauty. When I saw it I was floored :) that's a kitchen I could definitely bake cookies in!
So I have my colour browse appointment this Saturday and it's quite a drive, so I'll be staying a bit longer and taking many photos since I'm OCD like that :) my main aim in the selections of colours and fittings is to create a mix of classic that will age well yet with an injection of character. Big builder homes in their nature all look same-y even with the variety of colour selections and I really want to give the house some personality. More on the design ideas later :)
We have been assigned a CLE and the contract is being written. We're looking at a tentative June build start, possibly moving in before Christmas if the cold and rainy Melbourne winter allows. This might be the one and only time I'll be hoping for no rain! :D

Our lot, in the middle of our street!
Here is our lot in the Aspire estate in Plumpton, Victoria, as taken through the window of my car :) She's a fine lot, maybe a little rough around the edges, like a saloon girl with a heart of gold lol. On Aspire Blvd, caddy corner to what will be the biggest park in the estate. I'm hoping the playground has swings and that the kids share them or there's gonna be trouble!!
I am told the neighbors-to-be on our right are an older couple, former ballroom dancers, and apparently a wacky pair! They are building the exact house we like the most. It's obvious they already have impeccable tastes! Lol
